I need to get a “no soliciting / no begging” sign by my front door.  This morning my doorbell rings and there is a woman there who asks me for $1.40 so she can use the bus.  What the crap?  My dogs were going crazy barking at her through the security door which would make me just walk away, but no…she stayed.  I told her to wait a moment and got her $1.40.  I hope I did not create a precedent for this type of behavior and won’t answer the door next time.  I could not imagine wandering through my neighborhood looking for an open door, but also have not been to the point of needing $1.40 for a bus fare…if that is what it was for.  She looked like she has been living a pretty rough existence, but was still quite overweight.  How does that work?  Oh well.  Time for a sign.
