Heidenau Scout K60s on my DL650
For the past few years I’ve been riding a Suzuki DL650 and have used mostly street tires. The last tires used were the Bridgestone Battlax Adventure A40 tires and they did fairly well. Prior to that I had the Michelin Anakee 2 tires and also liked them. The problem was when I wanted to ride on dirt and gravel…they just didn’t work very well.
Enter the Heidenau Scout K60s. They’ve been recommended by a few friends who have dual sport / adventure bikes so I thought I’d give them a shot. They look great and after getting used to the handling differences I am really liking them. It was more of a trust issue when riding on asphalt / concrete more so than dirt, but this past weekend those worries were put to rest.
Turn-in is much faster, but once I was accustomed to that I was able to ride as comfortably as before on the Battleax tires.

We’ll see how well they do in rain since I always run into some strong storms during my two week rides.
To be continued in a month…
Update 8/27/2016
The tires worked very well on the ride. I’ll probably go back to a 80/20 or 90/10 for most rides, but these did quite well in off-road riding. I would absolutely recommend them. See ride notes here!
