Plug-in broken for images… finding a new plug-in

Plug-in broken for images… finding a new plug-in

Google made an update that has broken my Picasa plug-in so I am looking for a new plugin that works well. (5/8/2015) Update 5/10/2015 – everything is working again.  I had to go back to the free plug-in from the pay plug-in.  Very strange, but it worked. 🙂

Back to Disneyland … it’s only been a little over 3 decades

Back to Disneyland … it’s only been a little over 3 decades

Back in 1981 I went to Disneyland in California and it seemed like a magical place.  We went during the week and I only remember waiting in line for a few rides, but even then the lines weren’t exceptionally long. Last weekend I went back and the average wait was about an hour to over an hour for the popular rides.  Yes, I know it was a Saturday, but wow! I did a search and found out that weekends average…

Updates to the house!

Updates to the house!

Since moving into my home in 2010 I’ve been wanting to get rid of most of the carpet, linoleum, and replace the toilets.  Well, I finally took the plunge and got it all (mostly done)! I hired Get Floored, Inc. to put in the tile that I purchased from Home Depot.  It was the exact match for the tile currently installed in the kitchen and family room.  Their crew was on time, efficient and friendly.  I’d recommend Get Floored, Inc….

Switching to an iPhone – apprehension to euphoria

Switching to an iPhone – apprehension to euphoria

I bought the first Android phone available on the T-Mobile network back in 2008.  It was the HTC/T-Mobile G1 and I loved it. After that I was using a variety of Motorola Android phones and after leaving Motorola I purchased my first Samsung Android phone. The Vibrant was a good phone, then I bought the Galaxy S2, S4, and finally the S5.  The Galaxy series was excellent and I still use my S2 regularly running the latest Cyanogenmod flavor. The…

2014 Christmas & NYE trip to Germany

2014 Christmas & NYE trip to Germany

I hadn’t been back to Germany in a few years, but with a good friend from Phoenix living there and willing to travel with me I needed no more reason to get back to the motherland. I flew British Airways from Phoenix to London, then onto Frankfurt from there.  London’s airport was as efficient as ever, which worked out well due to our late arrival.  I was put into the “fast lane” and made it to my connecting flight with minutes to…

2015 Motorcycle Ride Prep has begun

2015 Motorcycle Ride Prep has begun

Well, it’s time to start planning the 2015 motorcycle ride.  Here is the initial route based on places I’d like to visit.  This year I’ll be back into Canada, but farther west than 2 years ago.  I’m looking forward to riding through the Rockies in Canada and visiting Whistler again, it’s such a beautiful area. I am unsure of what I’ll need to add to the bike since it’s about as good as it’s going to get unless I make…

2014 Bisbee RDR

2014 Bisbee RDR

This past weekend Bisbee hosted their annual Red Dress Run and it didn’t disappoint. The weather was perfect, the people were as fun as always and the trails were steep and stair filled. We once again stayed at the Gym Club Suites in downtown Bisbee.  Big rooms, full kitches, patios overlooking Bisbee and close to all of the fun. Ran into Seth from Old Bisbee Roasters as we here heading out of town and remembered I needed to pick up…

Don’t blame others for YOUR poor life decisions

Don’t blame others for YOUR poor life decisions

I hear people blaming the president for all of their problems. YOU created your problems, stop blaming others.  I hated GWB, but didn’t blame him when I got laid off (along with 4,000 others) 7 years ago.  That was Motorola’s fault, poor management, decisions, etc. What did I do? Took a break, got my resume updated and found another job. Want to get a job?  Go to school and learn a skill that isn’t reliant upon constant growth in the…

Settling back into “regular” life.

Settling back into “regular” life.

Not sure what was different about this year’s ride compared with the last, but I’ve been having some difficulty in adjusting to my regular schedule.  I want to be on the road, riding to some new destination, meeting new people, smelling the air as I ride through the lush coastal landscape amongst the Redwood forests. What doesn’t help is a book a friend gave me to read that is focused on the entire ecosystem that is held within the branches of…
