Yesterday I went to a Art Festival in downtown Phoenix with my friend Amy. We rode our bicycles from her home to the festival, met some of her friends who were painting at the festival, and wandered around the numerous booths full of unique and fun wares being sold by their makers. Over the past 6 years of living in my home I have made various upgrades to reduce my home’s energy use, but the one that seems to have made the most impact are the window shades installed 2 years ago. I was able to reduce my yearly use by 3,000kWh and that’s even after adding a 220 Hot Tub. The hot tub bumped it up about 500kWh, but it’s worth that little increase. After about six years, it was time to get this house repainted. I chose a different color scheme this time (4/option2) from our approved HOA paint guidelines. As stupid as some people think HOAs are, I have lived in neighborhoods with them and prefer to have one.
