Ride to Roosevelt Lake

Ride to Roosevelt Lake

This past weekend I went on a ride with a few friends out to Roosevelt Lake. We rode out of Phoenix to the northeast past Fountain Hills, then south to Tonto Basin / Punkin Patch for a break and some lunch. Once we left there we continued south to Roosevelt Dam for a break and to talk with other riders out enjoying the day. After that we went through the Globe area and rode west back to Phoenix. Check out…

Can’t even hear the game

Can’t even hear the game

Last night I went to a Phoenix Suns game against Toronto at the US Airways Center in Phoenix. I hadn’t been to a game in years and now I know why. They played loud music throughout the game which was a mix of the usual game sounds (organs) to a live person mixing music throughout the game play. It was like being at a concert, but with so many breaks every few seconds to different types of music that it…

Hooray for Makers Mark! Thank you!

Hooray for Makers Mark! Thank you!

Makers Mark Website Dear Ambassador, Since we announced our decision last week to reduce the alcohol content (ABV) of Maker’s Mark in response to supply constraints, we have heard many concerns and questions from our ambassadors and brand fans. We’re humbled by your overwhelming response and passion for Maker’s Mark. While we thought we were doing what’s right, this is your brand – and you told us in large numbers to change our decision. People who hit their dogs suck

People who hit their dogs suck

Saw two people hit their dogs at the dog park today for no reason. Not little taps but a full swing. I asked one guy why he hit his dog and asked if he would like to be hit that hard. I really dislike people sometimes.

Perfect biking weather!

Perfect biking weather!

Last weekend I rode with friends on the back half of Desert Classic off of the Warpaint trail head.  In my opinion, this part of the trail is so much better than the front half.  Fewer people, more challenging and if you feel like a climb you can go up the helipad trail and then down the steep trail on the northwest side of the pad.  So much fun!  See the pix: here

OBD2 fun

OBD2 fun

I picked up the Excelvan ELM327 v1.5 Bluetooth Mini Small Interface OBD2 Scanner Adapter (link) for the Torque application on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Android phone. I have been interested in getting one of these, but the prices were entirely too high…until now. I paid under $20 shipped and it is working extremely well. Installation of the application on the phone is easy and cheap ($4.99). I’ll post some pictures soon.

Aggressive driver

Aggressive driver

As I was driving north onto the 10 split to N51/E202 I saw the driver of this Chevy Silverado attempt to block a driver of a BMW X5 from merging into the E202 lane.  The driver of the BMW had turned his turn signal on, but the Driver of the Chevy sped up to block him even though there was plenty of room to merge. Then the driver of Silverado purposefully swerved into the BMW driver’s lane causing him to…

Trip planned for July

This July I am planning a motorcycle ride from AZ to ND for my Grandmother’s 90th birthday / Family reunion.  I’ll be stopping along the way to visit friends and perhaps run with the various hash house harrier groups if I can stop on the days they hash. and a more detailed look: View Driving directions to Phoenix, AZ in a larger map
