Showing what it means to be a good leader
Hillary Clinton’s concession speech was excellent. She gives me hope.

Riding (comfortably) weather is back!
Comfortable motorcycle riding temperature is back and it’s been glorious. Saturday morning a friend and I rode up to Bartlett Lake north of Phoenix and then had some breakfast at “Local Johnny’s” in Cave Creek before riding back into town. Please do not text and drive!
2016 Havasupai Hike
This past weekend I was invited to hike into the Havasupai Falls area with a group of 30 people. I had been wanting to do this hike for years and thanks to a fantastic friend I was able to go. We didn’t all hike down together, but in our group there were four of us. Some shuttled their packs and some of us carried packs and those 10+ miles went by fairly quickly as we all talked, took pictures, and…
Energy saving changes have saved energy!!!
Over the past 6 years of living in my home I have made various upgrades to reduce my home’s energy use, but the one that seems to have made the most impact are the window shades installed 2 years ago. I was able to reduce my yearly use by 3,000kWh and that’s even after adding a 220 Hot Tub. The hot tub bumped it up about 500kWh, but it’s worth that little increase. Window shades Nest Thermostat More efficient refrigerator…
New paint on this old house

Not only does it keep people from painting their home an outrageous color (good in some areas), it keeps yards clean (mostly) and things in order (everything in its place!). Here’s a before…
2016 Ride has been completed

Heidenau Scout K60s on my DL650
For the past few years I’ve been riding a Suzuki DL650 and have used mostly street tires. The last tires used were the Bridgestone Battlax Adventure A40 tires and they did fairly well. Prior to that I had the Michelin Anakee 2 tires and also liked them. The problem was when I wanted to ride on dirt and gravel…they just didn’t work very well. Enter the Heidenau Scout K60s. They’ve been recommended by a few friends who have dual sport / adventure…
2016 Motorcycle Trip Route
Let’s get to the ride!!! This year’s trip will be a little different from others due to the fact that I am focusing on one state…Colorado. I’ll take an extra day on my way north to the Black Hills in South Dakota to not only make it a more comfortable ride, but to explore some areas I haven’t in the past. On the way back from South Dakota I’ll head into southern Colorado to explore the Black Canyon area and…
