Update… 11/17/1999
Four months goes by so fast. We haven’t been too busy since July. Vince visited from Australia during his world tour. Lisa visited from Atlanta. Kara H. visited from Colorado (SMA friend of Darin, SDSM&T friend of Kisha). I went to San Francisco a couple of times for training and Kisha and I went out to Monterey for a weekend of fun and to visit the Cooneys in Santa Cruz. We stayed at a cabin near Greer, AZ which is at around 9,500 feet elevation and is quite beautiful. I’ll remember more later.
We’re going to Indianapolis for Thanksgiving this year for a few days. This will be about the longest time that we’ve been able to spend with the parentals since we lived in Rapid City. Can’t wait. It will also be nice to visit some friends in Indy that we haven’t seen in a while.
We want to go out to NYC for Christmas with the Levychins, but not too sure if that’s going to be a reality this year, so if you know of anyone with some extra cash lying around waiting to by some plane tickets for some great people, let us know. We are definitely getting out before the new year out there. I want to be as far away from the east coast as possible for the ole’ Y2K. Call me paranoid, but I just want to take a few precautions.
Spater.
Update… 07/10/99
Wow! Another update in less than a month?! What the heck!
Anyway. Last weekend (Independence Day), Kisha, Baxter and I went camping at Black Canyon Lake which is on the Mogollan (Mog-oyan) Rim at about 8000 feet. I just love it up there. We left early Friday afternoon and spent most of the weekend relaxing in the mountains. Baxter had his first experience with horses and thought that they were just big dogs. He actually wanted to play with them!
This weekend we’re hanging out at the house. I was able to go to Kisha’s flight practice this morning and taped her doing touch and goes out at our airport with her instructor Jennifer. I just love watching her fly. Only a few more days until Kisha solos and that’s a big step towards her private license. I can’t wait until she is a full fledged pilot and we can rent a plane and fly wherever we want.
Work is going well for me. I am currently waiting for a new web development product which will allow my group to leap ahead of our competition. It will allow my group to collaboratively work on sites from anywhere in the world and allow our customers to actively update areas of their site themselves without any chance of affecting the rest of the code.
If any of our friends or family get a chance to visit and want to go camping, let us know. We’ve got plenty of gear and would love to have you visit.
Our “cousin” from Australia is coming in August for a few days and we’ll probably do some fun stuff then.
P.S. Kisha’s bike was stolen this past week in broad daylight on the ASU campus. Why is it that people do this? What comes around goes around and I hope that person gets what they deserve. We bought a new “Motobecane” mountain bike for Kisha today and hopefully this one doesn’t catch the eye of some thieving bastard. We also bought one of those kryptonite U locks that is supposed to be breakthrough proof. We’ll see.
Until then…
Update… 06/22/99
Almost 4 months to the day. Anyway…
In the past four months Kisha and I have done quite a few things. We’ve been back and forth from quite a few cities visiting quite a few friend and family. I’ll start from the most recent and go back.
Last weekend Kisha, Baxter and I went camping up by Knoll Lake which is situated on the Mogollan (Mogoyan) Rim about 8200 feet up. It is one heck of a beautiful area (Pictures coming soon) and there are deer, elk, bear, raccoons, squirrels, etc.
Before that my (Darin’s) parents came out for a visit finally. We went up to Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Jerome, Prescott to enjoy the cool weather up north. We also went to my Grandparents home in Mesa and caught up on all of the family stuff. Our cousin Kathy went with us to the driving range (photos coming) and we had a super time.
Weeks before that we went to L.A. for our first road trip in our new Mitsubishi Montero. We had a great time and our good friend Rick finally got rid of his American car (Sunfire) and bought a new Honda CR-V. Still haven’t figured out what CR-V stands for. We took a nice drive down Malibu Canyon and to the beach one day and had a wonderful time.
A few weeks before that we went out to Seattle to catch up with all of the family and friends out there. We saw my brother Jeff, his wife Kim, our aunt Jane, our friends Zenon and Jill. We did not see our good friends Lynn and Gabe or my cousin Jenny. Next time superfriends. Jill and Zenon finally got a computer and are now online with the rest of us. I just love those two! Kisha took her first Seattle sight seeing trip while we were there. We visited the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, etc. We also took a ferry out to my aunt Jane’s island (not all hers). We had a yummy dinner at a little restaurant in Gig Harbor with all the above mentioned people.
I am sure that I am forgetting a few things, but I’ll ask Kisha for help to remember. Take care all.
Update… 02/21/99
Long time no write. We’ve been extremely busy down here with work and travel.
We were in New York last weekend for our cousins fortieth birthday party. What a bash! Onsite chef cooking up the goodies, jazz band, the works! Those people know how to party.
The week before I went with Kisha to Denver and the week before to Detroit. I finally had a weekend at home this week. Baxter got a bath and the house got cleaned.
Over Christmas we went to New York to hang with Belinda, Rich and RJ and the rest of the NY peeps. Kisha had a trip to Boston so she just took a Delta shuttle down from there and I met her in NY. It was a very good time.
Thanksgiving we went to Indianapolis to be with the parentals and Jerrod’s family. It’s great being together over the holidays.
Now we’re just waiting to see what happens with America West with Kisha. They’re going to strike next month, but the way that AWA messed with Kisha’s schedule she may have to quit so that she can continue to attend ASU. America West has horrible management and I hope that all the bad things that they do to their employees comes back on them ten fold.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. Until next time…
