Update… 1/3/97
Happy New Year! Kisha and I spent the new year on a plane going to San Francisco. We played tourist in SF most of the 2nd and then flew onto Philadelphia for the next day. I actually just went with Kisha because she got a trip over new years and I didn’t want to be away from her. I’ll have some photos up soon from our trip. We went on the trolleys and visited Pier 39 and took a submarine tour which was very informative. We didn’t do too much in Philadelphia except recover from the busy day in SF. We are having some friends visit this month: our friend Petra from Virginia, my brother Jeff and Mark Boyce and his family are coming down for a needed break from the Indiana winter.

Happy Holidays to all! We spent the day with some Midwest friends at their house eating and drinking typically excellent cuisine. Kisha then had to fly all over for the next day and a half. I picked her up this morning at 1:30am and then she has to leave again tonight for a few hours. What a jet setting life she lives. Baxter and I are getting too much quality time lately. He is way too needy sometimes. If you want unending companionship just get a Rottweiler.

Hello, I believe it’s about time for another update. Kisha is really enjoying her job as a flight attendant and is seeing much of the country. My flight benefits finally started this weekend so I jumped on a plane Saturday night and met Kisha as she was flying through Las Vegas. We then flew onto San Diego where Kisha had a twenty-seven hour layover. We spent the day walking by the piers, looking at local shops and just relaxing in the scenic San Diego area.
Work is going wonderfully quickly at Motorola for me. I am kept very busy by the very machines that I like. I don’t believe that it is the machine’s fault all of the time, but that is the way of humans. I am still hoping for that html job that is waiting for me out there, not that I’m complaining, I still have this page and the few others that I do. Anyway, If anyone knows of a web developer job paying in the forties let me know. Take care.

Hi, this is Kisha. Darin has finally forced me to actually sit down and contribute to our page. He should be careful what he wishes for, next thing you know I’ll be taking over. Not much new with me. I’m enjoying my job at America West. One of the most challenging things is finding something to do in my spare time when I’m on call or when I have days off during the week. I’ve finally found a school that will work around my schedule so now I’ll be taking classes to fill the void. Speaking of which, I’ll stop so that I can hit the books right now. Later!
Darin here. I quit my job at Motorola for SPS and joined Motorola’s SATCOM Division which is only five minutes away instead of twenty-five. It is a new building with bright shiny people. I am much happier at SATCOM because I can work on my favorite computers and not on some ego maniac’s machines. (Steve Jobs-referring to Apple)

Where has the month gone?! I’ve been at Motorola for over a month now and everything is going well for me here. I’ve made a few friends here at SPS in Mesa, but the way I run around all day it is hard to meet people. I’m still available for the web master position if anyone needs one.
Kisha is in her third week in the America West flight attendant training program. Wow, they sure do have to learn a bunch of stuff. They might as well be EMT’s with all of the training they do. Kisha was able to fly to San Jose, CA this past weekend for in flight training which was very fun and exciting for Kisha since this is the first time she has been able to use her training in a practical sense. I am so proud of Kisha that she is able to do all of this cool stuff.

Here’s a new update. I began working at Motorola’s SPS plant in Mesa, AZ as a Computer Technician on Monday and it is really quite fun. I came in through a contractor that works with Motorola. I am planning on moving directly to Motorola so that I won’t have to put up with a service.
Here’s some more great news. Although Kisha is planning on attending ASU this fall she was still able to land a job with America West Airlines as a Flight Attendant. Kisha has wanted to be Flight Attendant for years and she now has the opportunity to fulfill that dream. YIPEEEEEE! She will begin training in July for 6 weeks and begin flying sometime in August. I will be able to fly free after November so give me a call if you want me to fly out for a weekend.

Well, we made it down to Chandler, AZ. It only took us 2.5 days and what a beautiful drive it was. We have been relaxing a bit since arriving here. We live only a few blocks from our Aunt and Uncle who moved from North Dakota a few years ago to the warmth and splendor which is Arizona. I have a few interviews setup for the next few weeks so everything is on course. Well, I’ll write more when I get a chance. Take care. You can still email us at our juno addresses: DnK@juno.com or kisha@juno.com until we find a local internet provider down there. We are super excited.
Update… 5/25/97
We decided to move the date up yet again, this time to June 8th. We’ll be out of Indianapolis in no time at all. We have made quite a few friends here that we will miss, but it’s on to a new batch of good friends in Arizona. You can still email us at our juno addresses:

We are selling just about everything to streamline our move. We will be staying with our friend Brad until we find suitable housing. Keep us in your prayers so that we may succeed in our new environment. We are super excited.
Update… 5/6/97
The Company I was working for (VNII) decided to not be in business anymore because the guy who ran it from Maryland didn’t know what he was doing. Now I don’t have a job. I am now working for a company called On-Net helping those customers from VNII that decided to choose On-Net as their new ISP. I am still doing much work from my home based computer consulting business called, VisionsWork, and am trying to keep busy. I also sent a resume to one of my best friends in Arizona who works for Motorola and that is looking good as far as job opportunities go. If you happen to know of any good computer/internet related positions let me know. Thanks.
I recently was hired as a web designer and technical support person for Virtual Networks of Indiana Inc. It is like what I was doing at home except it’s more fun since I am working with people; neat people, from whom I can learn much about computers. I started a little over a month ago and so far I am having a ball. I love helping people with computers and the internet. It is the perfect job for me.
Kisha is still working at Hot Shots Inc. in Carmel. She really enjoys her job too. She basically runs that place when the bosses aren’t around. Kisha is one super developer. If you want the best pictures you can get, go to Hot Shots and have Kisha develop your film. Plus, if you become a HotShots club member you get discounts on everything. If you do sign up for a membership, make sure Kisha gets the credit. They get bonuses for reaching membership goals. Thanks.

We have been a busy couple since our last news page. Actually, we haven’t done too much in the past few months.
Kisha quit C.P. Morgan a few months ago. She is now the assistant manager at HotShots Inc. It is a photo studio here in Carmel, IN and she enjoys the work there much more than at the Design Center.
Kisha is also preparing to start back to school this summer at IUPUI here in Indianapolis.
I quit my job as a graphic artist, marketing person at C.P. Morgan November of last year and embarked on a self employed mission. So far things are going great, but I am still interested in working for a large employer designing web pages or anything else that would use my creativity. I am slowly building up a number of regular clients which is great since I work primarily on a referral basis. I have had the opportunity to design many marketing pieces for a variety of businesses and people throughout the Indianapolis area and look forward to expanding in this market.
Christmas was spent here in Carmel. We moved into our new townhouse the first part of December which made it quite difficult to travel during the holiday season. We went up to Chicago over New Years and spent the Eve partying downtown with friends from the Chicago-Land area.
Our anniversary is the 9th of February and we plan on spending some quality time together that weekend.
Valentine’s Day brings chocolate and kisses for Kisha and I.
Upcoming this year we would like to go back home (Rapid City, SD) for a long overdue visit to one of the most beautiful places in this country.
If you would like to visit us here in Carmel just let us know when you are coming and we’ll be happy to let you stay as long as you want (within reason).
