Update… 10/08/98
Mid October already. Well, we went to Ixtapa, Mexico two weeks ago and had a really great time. Ixtapa is located 236 kilometers north of Acapulco. We stayed at the Qualton Resort which had a pretty good all-inclusive package. We met a great couple from Oklahoma and really did some fun things during our stay. We went swimming all the time in the pool and went snorkeling in the ocean the last day we were there. Snorkeling is really fun with all of the fish swimming so close that you could catch one if they weren’t so darn fast. We went horseback riding on the beach in the morning, which was fun and the scenery is incredible. We’re going down there again sometime quite soon if possible.
This weekend I’m helping my coworker, Chris, pour cement to add onto his patio in the backyard. I can’t wait.
My motorcycle is almost completely restored with only a few minor details to finish before I’m cruising the highway.
Until next time…
Update… 7/14/98
July is almost halfway over now and we’ve been quite busy.
In the first part of the month I went up to my ten year class reunion and had a great time visiting with old friends and meeting their new families.
It’s now the 14th and Kisha and I are in the air coming back from Rapid City, SD from my little sisters wedding. She married her longtime boyfriend, Jeremy, in a wonderful ceremony in a local RC park.
We also were able to visit many of our relatives since almost everyone on the Meier side of the family came to SD from all over the country. We stayed one day at the family reunion at the Custer State Park Game Lodge in a nice cabin near a beautiful little stream.
We’re not planning on doing too much traveling in these next few weeks since we’re pretty much tired out from all of our recent trips.
We are going camping this weekend north of Sedona with our dog Baxter. That should be fun and we will take photos.
See you next time…
Update… 6/27/98
Well, it’s about time for an update. Since we’ve come back from Germany we’ve:
Gone to San Jose for a weekend where Darin was sick the whole time and we didn’t do anything.
Kisha was sick the next weekend thanks to Darin.
Picked up our nephew Justin in Chicago and brought him back here to Phoenix. We went flying in a Cessna with our friend Brent from Motorola and also went horseback riding. We then took Justin back to Indianapolis last weekend and came right back. I’ll have photos up soon from his trip here.
Kisha is now working, she’s in Salt Lake City tonight and gets home around midnight. Baxter sure misses his mom when she’s gone. Well, so do I. I can’t wait until Kisha gets a regular schedule.
Upcoming is my class reunion, Kara’s wedding and the Klein family reunion. July will be a busy month.
Take care…
Update… 5/21/98
We made it back from Germany safe and sound. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday, I just wish it were more than a week. We visited quite a few castles and basically just went on day trips from our friends home in Baumholder, which is near France and Luxembourg. We’ll have some photos up as soon as I get around to scanning them. I am very busy at work right now so I’ll get to it as soon as I can.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend.
Update… 4/21/98
Kisha and I went camping this past weekend north of Sedona, Arizona for Kisha’s birthday. We took Baxter with us and he wasn’t quite sure what camping was supposed to be. He enjoyed the walks through the woods and sniffed everything, but didn’t get the tent concept. We had a great time.
Today we went flying with a friend of mine from work. We took out a Cessna four passenger plane down to a skydiving school in Eloy and I got to fly on the way down and Kisha flew almost all the way back. She is a much better pilot than I. Someday I’ll figure it out.
Update… 4/13/98
We’re not moving quite yet due to some problems with the past owners of the house we were going to purchase. Well, on to the next prospective homestead. This home buying business can be a pain sometimes.
Kisha’s birthday is coming up this month and we’re all going camping north of Sedona. Baxter has never been camping before so this should be a fun trip.
Update… 4/4/98
April is here already. What’s new?
We are in the process of purchasing a home in the Val Vista Lakes area in Gilbert which is a southeast suburb of Phoenix. Beautiful area. All friends and family are always welcome to visit with prior warning…I mean notification. We’ll be moving in around the 20th of April if all goes well with our VA junk. Va is great for home purchasing, but the waiting is difficult.
I also moved into a new position at Motorola. I am now working for the Technical Publications Group doing multimedia CD-ROMs, web pages and other presentation work for the Celestri program. I start on Monday and am super excited.
Kisha is still with America West Airlines as a flight attendant, but the hours do wear on her sometimes. If you are a passenger on any airline, please be courteous. Thanks.
Update… 3/16/98
March is going along smoothly. More email addresses are coming in everyday for SMA alumni. I still am overwhelmed by the wonderful response.
Kisha and I flew up to Indianapolis this past weekend to celebrate Jerrod’s and Justin’s birthdays. Jerrod is now 31 and Justin turned 9 on Monday. I can’t believe that we’re getting as old as we are. Mom and dad Klein came out for the birthdays also, so it was super to see them too.
We went to Justin’s hockey games on Sunday and watched them play an excellent game against a team from Louisville, KY. Boy do those parents get out of hand when cheering for their kids. Parents need to realize that their children are getting a bad example by their (parent’s) poor sportsmanship.
I’m going back up to Indianapolis in two weeks to help Jerrod with some computer stuff so I’ll try and catch another game.
Update… 2/17/98
So far we’ve had a pretty adventurous February. On Friday the 6th we took off for New York and got in around 4am. We slept a little then went to visit Kisha’s cousin Belinda and her Husband Rich. They have brand new twins named Brandon and RJ (Richard Junior). Rich was busy, but I was able to finally meet Belinda and the kids. What a wonderful woman and what super kids. You gotta love ’em! We had a wonderful Saturday in Brooklyn. I was able to see some incredible homes and have some real New York style Italian pizza.
Saturday night (midnight) we left for Seattle. We arrived early and slept for a while. Jeff picked us up from the hotel and we went down to Pike Place Market for lunch with Terry, Mary, Jenny and Kevin at a nice restaurant overlooking the market. Jeff, Kisha and I went back to the Seattle Kleinpad and hooked up with Kim (wife) and Jiggs (new dog) and hung out there for a while. We then went to a restaurant and Kisha was able to meet her email friend Connie who was wonderful. We finally came back to Phoenix Saturday morning and went to bed.
As you have probably guessed by now, I went along with Kisha on one of her trips, but this trip hit many good spots for us to visit some friends and family.
Update… 1/20/98
The Saint Martin’s web page is going quite well. I am amazed at the response that I’ve received so far. Please continue to give me feedback on fellow classmates. I am planning on putting together an online database for our class so that we may contact each other by phone also. This will be a password access site so I’ll issue passwords as soon as I get the site up.
Another few weeks pass here in wonderfully warm Arizona. Aren’t you tired of winter up north? Yep, 70 degree days are pretty tough on us here, but we’ll survive somehow. Kisha’s still flying and I’m still Motorola-ing
We’ve also had some visitors lately. Our friend from Germany; now living in Virginia, Petra came down to visit last weekend. Our friend Mark Boyce and his family also visited from Indianapolis, IN.
Then my brother Jeff was down for a Boeing conference and stayed for the next weekend. Jeff and I visited Sedona, Montezuma’s Castle, and Jerome. What a day we had, super tourists! Kisha has had to work every weekend this month so far. I hope her next month’s schedule is better.
