This past year’s fun…
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a happy, safe and prosperous New Year! May 2012 be even better and let’s all hope the Mayans are off by a few thousand years.
This past year has been a good one, filled with plenty of great memories of family, new friends and new experiences.
Early this year my dear little dog, Isabella passed away. I was lucky enough to have her in my life for over ten years and she was a wonderfully grumpy girl. After her passing I began to foster dogs again through AZ RESCUE here in Phoenix. I’ve had three foster dogs this year so far: Sydney (Boxer mix), Dirk (Lab mix) and Quentin (Queensland Heeler) and they’ve all been really sweet pups.
My parents visited in February and while they were here we went to San Diego, CA for their first trip there. We saw the famous Torrey Pines golf course, the USS Midway Museum, a few beaches, ate great food and just relaxed. It was so nice to have them visit because during this time I had my right foot in a cast so their help was greatly appreciated!

In early November another item was checked off the old bucket list: SKYDIVING! I went with a great group of friends to Skydive Arizona and it was a pretty amazing experience. I would definitely do it again.
Over Thanksgiving I flew to Indianapolis to get together with the family. My father and I played so many games of ping-pong! We also played some doubles, ate too much food!!! Over the weekend I drove up to Michigan to visit my old Army roommate while I was stationed in Germany, Ralph and his wife Lara. I hadn’t seen Ralph in years and it was so great to hang out with him and Lara!!!
This month wraps up another year full of great memories.

Foster Sydney
This fall I had the opportunity to check another state off of the list. I went to Vermont with my friend Susan for her sister’s wedding. We stayed in Stowe where there is so much to do! I rented a bike and rode all over enjoying the scenery, the rain and some really wonderful locally brewed beer. The wedding was quite beautiful and everyone had such a great time!

Making a stop on one of our bike hashes – we follow a trail on our bikes and make a few stops for food and drink. FUN!
In May I went to San Francisco for a week for work, running, celebrating my birthday and the 100th Bay to Breakers 12K run. There were quite a few of my running friends from Phoenix participating so it made for a fun filled week and weekend.
For Mother’s Day my Grandmother made the trip south from North Dakota! We had such an amazing time with her here and all of the northwest / west / southwest Meier family got together.
