2009: July

2009: July

Hashing on the Fourth of July was lots of fun, but when the temperature gets above 105 it will have an impact on one’s ability to truly enjoy the run. It turns into survival by mile three. 🙂 That’s where the beer stops come into play and we all sit, drink water, drink beer and attempt to spell “Hash” with our bodies.

After the run we all met at one of the Hasher’s homes for a pool party and BBQ. It was a wonderful day with a great group of fun loving people. They have all truly made my 2009 so much better. I have made some really good friends that I know I will have for quite some time.

We had our full moon run on Tuesday and it was a good run in north Phoenix.

This past weekend was full of swimming with Mooch, hanging with my friend Karen and visiting Kartchner Caverns south of Tucson. It was a great day for going underground and once again the caverns were spectacular. The cave was a bit dryer this time down, but last time I went it was during a wet monsoon season and this one has yet to start.

Friday night I saw UP with Karen and it was a really good movie. We also had some great Yogurt at MoJo in the Biltmore.

Onto another week full of minor adventures.

Wednesday the 22nd we had our weekly Hump’D Hash from Aunt Chilada’s in north Phoenix. It was a great run although trail was a bit hard to follow so the distance was increased considerably due to our inability to read chalk / flour marks.

This weekend is a weekend of cleaning and organizing and starting the search for another roommate. Erik moved back to east Chandler / Gilbert to be closer to the kids which is a great thing for them all. It was difficult for him to be so far away from them. He is a super dad and I wish him the best as he goes through this difficult process.

Tomorrow may be a hiking day depending on how early I want to get up. Hmmm, does swimming in the pool equate to a good hike? Probably not, but that is what may happen.

Friday was a great night and Saturday was spent cleaning

Hope your July is fantastic.
