2008: The Year Moves On…

2008: The Year Moves On…

The year continues to move forward as we work and play. I’m working part time for eTools Learning, but am still looking for a permanent position at a local company. It has been almost a decade since I had to go through the interview process so going through this again has been a challenge.

Since the last update we’ve been to Las Vegas and Los Angeles to have fun, relax and visit friends. We stayed at the Palazzo Suites at the Venetian when Kisha had to go for work and that was really great. The rooms are very large and have all the bells & whistles. It even had a remote control for the curtains, a big screen LCD TV in each room as well as the bathroom. The casino is beautiful, but still takes your money as fast as any other.

We participated in the “Climb to Conquer Cancer” climb up South Mountain in Phoenix which was between 5-7 miles depending on where you started/stopped. It was a great walk up South Mountain for a great cause.

Last weekend we went to Los Angeles to visit Rick, David, Okema, Petra & Togin (who were also visiting for Petra’s birthday). It was super to see her again and my first time meeting her son. We had a great time (as usual) and didn’t get enough sleep. The drive back was rather crazy since there was a really bad wind storm going on.

Update: On the job front…I landed a job at McKesson which is the nations largest pharmaceutical distributor in North America. I had an almost two hour interview with three groups of people from the company. One very refreshing thing I noticed is that everyone genuinely seemed to like one another and they actually liked coming to work! I couldn’t believe that such a company existed after working at Motorola for such a long time (10 years). I really hope I do well and I am very excited about starting again, but also quite nervous.

Kisha is traveling like a crazy person for work. She has been all over the country the past couple months and is gone at least once per week or all week depending on the client. I hope that her traveling slows down a bit even though it is nice to have the airline miles.

Next week is going to be very busy with me starting work on Monday, my parents, grandma, aunt and uncle arriving on Tuesday and then our 2 week GAPP German student gets here next Saturday.

We’ll have plenty of pictures to share for the next update.

All the best,

Kleins
