2008: August – September Begins

2008: August – September Begins

August has been a pretty crazy month as far as work goes for us and we did get a little travel in. At the start of the month Kisha was in Miami for a week for work so I flew out and we drove to Key West for the weekend. Definitely not what we were expecting. It was extremely hot and humid…yeah, I know…we do live in Phoenix, but it was insanely hot and humid. I don’t know how those people can live there.

Key West is an island connected by a road to Florida so I am not even sure it should be considered an island. It is very crowded and is more of a party place than somewhere a person can go to truly relax. I know we should have done a bit more research and chosen a location that suited our needs, but we just did it. Well, it’s a location we can check off the map and won’t be going back.

Other than that Naomi has been working her butt off for cheer and for school. She is doing a great job in her classes and is really working hard at cheer. At home she is usually quite quiet, but she definitely let her voice out on the field.  It was cool to see her out there keeping the crowd excited and cheering on the football team. Although our team did not win, it was fun to watch.

On the work front Kisha started a new job at Education2020 and really likes it. Her coworkers are nice and the work environment seems to be much better than her previous position. Although she likes the Tell Me More software and the company in general there were a few things that just didn’t make it a place she wanted to stay long term. (Kisha, see…I’m keeping my true comments to myself…this time.)

In my career I have been offered a full time position at McKesson and am very excited. The hire date should be the 15th of September and I am really looking forward to being a permanent part of the McKesson team. The team of people I work with are really hard working and know their stuff. I hope this all works out well.

Well, in the coming months we plan on visiting Rick and David in Los Angeles, a stay-cation somewhere north of Phoenix and a fun trip for Christmas. Cruise maybe? That would be fun to do again.

Hope you all have a great month!
