2007: August – October
Well, here’s a long over due update.
In August our exchange student arrived for the school year. It’s Julia! She was our 2 week GAP student a couple years ago, but loved AZ so much she worked hard to find a way back to spend more time in the US. We are lucky enough to be her parents for this school year.
Julia’s first weekend in the states began with a 6 hour drive to Los Angeles to spend time with our great friends Rick & David. While in Los Angeles we visited many of the well known tourist destinations as well as our favorite places to grab a bite to eat or to enjoy the city.
Since school started Julia has been busy with education and volleyball. She has excelled at both and her volleyball team has won the majority of their games.
We have been hiking with the dogs on South Mountain, Rock climbing at the Phoenix Rock Gym and many other activities.
Kisha’s sister stopped by last weekend on her move back to California from Florida. It was great seeing her again and we wish her all the best starting up again in Los Angeles.
In the coming months we will visit Kartchner Caverns in southern Arizona where the large cavern tour is now open after bat mating/baby season has ended there. We will be skiing/snowboarding as soon as we get some snow in the mountains. Thanksgiving takes us to Indiana to have time with all the siblings and parents and we’ll get to meet the newest edition to the family – Brady! Christmas will be spent in Telluride skiing and New Years will hopefully find us at another ski resort in Arizona if we have adequate snowfall. Fingers Crossed!!!
Until next time.
