Raven 2023 –

Raven 2023 –

In June 2025 I received a call from the veterinary clinic where I’ve taken my pups since moving to Spokane back in 2018. SouthCare Animal Clinic has been an integral part of the care my dogs have received and with Theo they partnered with the neurology clinic at WSU in Pullman, WA to make sure that his epilepsy was treated properly.

Anyway, back to how Raven adopted me. She was brought into the clinic to be euthanized because she kept getting into spats with porcupines on their 20 acres south of Spokane. Well, the veterinarians at SouthCare weren’t going to do that so they asked them to sign Raven over to them, which they did.

A few hours later I received a call to ask if I would help. Yes, of course I’d help a pup in need from the clinic who did so much to help me, Callie, and Theo over the years. Two days later I picked Raven up from the clinic and she moved into my home, albeit temporarily since she was initially my foster.

A few weeks later she had really snuck into my heart so I called the clinic to let them know that she’d be staying with me. I think that they knew she’d stay with me. 🙂

It’s now mid July and Raven has really settled in and is such a sweet pup. We go on errands often and she’s loved by everyone she meets. She loves to hold hands, it is so cute.

This is how Raven appeared when she was brought in by her previous humans after getting into a disagreement with a porcupine.
Having a snooze.
A few weeks ago sitting with Raven on the porch as she checked the trees for squirrels.
She loves going for rides and running errands with me.
Raven at her first nail trim and she did very well.
At a park last weekend.
Same park, different location.

Will add more as we go through life together…
